Outdoor rides at 6:30 PM! Tue and Thu road rides. Wed mountain bike rides.
We want you to ride but we don't want you to ride sick and risk hurting others. If you are sick, feverish, in isolation, quarantined, have tested positive for Covid and are not medically cleared, have a possible exposure or are waiting on test results please stay home. We'll refund your entire entry fee and mail you your shirt if you ordered one.
Riding a bike is fun, being sick isn't. Making others sick is worse.
When you arrive you'll go through a Covid check station run by the PSU Nursing department where your temperature will be taken and you'll fill out a Covid questionnaire/waiver. If you have a fever or are exhibiting other symptoms you will not be allowed to check in and must go home. After passing the Covid check station you'll be given a bracelet which is your proof of passing. You must wear the bracelet at check in and on the ride.
Masks will be required at the Covid check station, rider check in and while lined up to start. Immediately before the start you'll be instructed to remove your mask. You do not have to wear a mask in the parking lot, on the ride or at outdoor SAGs. You do need a mask at the SAG in Arma at the 70 mile mark if you want to use the bathrooms which are in the school. Please do all you can to maintain adequate spacing at SAGs.
We will have hand sanitizer all over the place! You will be required to use hand sanitizer before entering the Covid check station and before getting a food boat at the SAG stops. SAGs will operate like cafeteria serving lines. Riders will get a food boat and will walk down the line being served by workers. Riders do not have to wear masks at the SAGs (except for Arma's bathrooms) but workers will be wearing masks. Sneeze guards will protect food from non-masked riders. Riders will only touch their food.
All ride workers will be required to pass the Covid check station just like the riders.
The only thing that will cancel the ride is a forced shutdown by government order.
If that happens we will issue a refund of 2/3 of the entry fee ($40). The $20 not refunded will be applied to the Gorilla Century next year or other rides promoted by Tailwind Cyclists in 2021. This will keep us from going bankrupt after spending over $10K up front. It's not perfect but allows us the security to put on the event and guarantees future events even if we are ordered to cancel this one.
If you test positive for Covid or are in precautionary quarantine or isolation or otherwise sick we will issue individual total refunds. Shirts purchased before event cancellation or sickness will be shipped to the purchaser.
